Alldra

Alldra is a small company with 40 employees that produces decorations for ice cream, confectionery and baking products, among other things. A market that revolves around customization and speed of delivery. In 2013, Alldra encountered the limitations of their storage capacity and started looking for a smart solution. Since then they have been using the Indus pallet system: the Neva.

The Challenge

Scaling Production for Growing Demand

Alldra, a major supplier for industrial giants like Perfetti Van Melle, Dr. Oetker, Nestlé, Holiday Ice, and Baronie, boasts an enormous product range—from hard and soft musket to sugar sprinkles and custom sugar decorations. Nearly every batch is tailor-made, with bulk orders ranging from 2,000 to 30,000 kilograms.

Their specialty? Traditional panning. In nearly two hundred copper pans, sugar is coated with syrup and starch, then finished with aromas, glazes, and colors to meet exact customer specifications.

But with the rise of home baking, spurred by hits like The Great British Bake Off, Alldra faced a storage crunch. Sales of sugar decorations soared, and by 2013, their warehouse couldn’t keep up. The issue wasn’t floor space—it was height. Their stainless steel box storage wasn’t scalable, limiting their ability to grow with demand.

The challenge: maximize storage, improve product quality, and gain better process control.

With the Neva we can stack up to three big bags without contamination risks. This allows us to easily produce extra stocks with which we can offer customers a delivery guarantee at peak times, such as during a heat wave.

The Indus Solution

Smarter Storage with Indus Neva

Enter the Indus Neva system. By switching from traditional stainless steel boxes to ventilated big bag handling systems, Alldra unlocked new efficiencies. They started with 50 Neva systems—quickly realizing their value—and soon added another 100.

Why Neva? The mesh walls allow for optimal ventilation, preventing moisture build-up and clumping in stored confectionery. Products stay neat, hardened, and perfectly preserved—even for sensitive colored goods.

But it wasn’t just about product quality. The stable construction of Neva allowed Alldra to stack three bags high across 40 positions in their warehouse, significantly increasing storage capacity without expanding their footprint. This vertical storage capability enabled quicker responses to production peaks and better production distribution.

Schoorlemmer, Alldra’s location manager, sums it up:

The Indus Nevas give us higher quality storage than the old stainless steel system, which couldn’t be stacked. In a production environment where forklifts handle materials roughly, Neva’s durability is key.

The Result

The Neva systems have outperformed alternative solutions—no separate components, no hassle. For Alldra, it’s a reliable, scalable system that delivers.
